Minnesota Permit Renewal Course - $75* Includes all course materials, range fee, target and certificate This course is for renewing students who originally took their training with an AACFI certified instructor. If your prior training was with other than an AACFI instructor, you must take our regular course to renew. This course will meet or exceed the training requirements to renew your Minnesota Permit To Carry a Pistol as well as resident or non-resident permits in almost two dozen other states. This course also qualifies as a prerequisite for our Utah Permit to Carry a Concealed Firearm Supplemental Course. You must be legally eligible to possess a firearm. Your training on the following topics will be refreshed: Safe use of a pistol Fundamentals of pistol use Fundamental legal aspects of pistol possession, carry and use, including self-defense and the restrictions on the use of deadly force Shooting exercise This identical to our regular Minnesota course. All students must bring a driver's license or passport and a photocopy of their AACFI Training Certificate. We also suggest bringing cash or checkbook. The UT permit is a better value than a MN Permit. All states that honor the MN non-resident permit also honor the UT non-resident permit, plus fourteen more. The NET difference in your cost is only +$40.25 (MN Renewal Course + MN Renewal Permit Fee versus MN Renewal Course + UT Course + UT Permit Fee). If you wish to practice after the live fire qualification, you are welcome to stay at no additional charge until the range closes. Eye and ear protection provided at no charge or bring your own. The range rents handguns for $15 and ammunition is available for purchase. You will need 30 rounds for the test. We strongly recommend that you wear a baseball cap on the range. This course meets or exceeds the training required by Minnesota statute. MN Sheriffs are required to accept our certificate. The course certificate will be valid for one year to renew your MN Permit. Renewal permit fees are no more than $75. You cannot apply for renewal of a MN Permit earlier than 90 days prior to expiration of your current permit. When issued, your new permit will begin on the expiration date of your old permit. If you apply for renewal within 30 days after it expires, a $10 late fee will apply. If your permit is expired by more than 30 days, you will have to pay the new permit application fee ($100). *Students must bring a photocopy of their AACFI MN Permit to Carry a Pistol Course Certificate not more than six years old.
